The Rivers Alive annual watershed clean-up is October 6th.

The 2007 annual Rivers Alive clean-up is Saturday, October 6th. Hundreds of Athens residents participate in this local watershed cleanup event. Last year, over 5 tons of litter were collected from the North Oconee River! Meet at Dudley Park at 9am for breakfast, a Rivers Alive t-shirt, and orientation. Be sure to wear closed toe shoes, long pants, and gloves. Prizes will be awarded for special trash finds! After the clean-up volunteers celebrate with a free pizza lunch and live music. For more volunteer information, call Carly Robinson at (706) 613-3615 ext. 227.
