Teen Volunteer Camp to Work in Area Neighborhood
Jun 8, 2005 by Cail Hammons
Neighborhood notice for Brooklyn Creek area
The Teens in Action volunteer camp offered by Athens-Clarke County leisure services department will work to place storm drain decals in the Brooklyn Creek neighborhood on Tuesday, June 14 and Tuesday, June 21.
Residents who live on streets within the area bounded by Olgethorpe, Prince, Holman, and King Avenues are asked not to park cars directly in front of storm drain inlets on the mornings of the work project to allow the teens easy access to storm drains.
The educational decals let potential polluters know that anything dumped into a storm drain eventually makes it’s way into a river or stream. The drain decal placement is a project of Athens-Clarke County’s stormwater management program.
